Shipping policy
At SculptureMade, many sculptures are handcrafted and made to order. This policy explains our delivery areas, shipping costs, production and transit estimates, freight arrangements, and how we handle delivery problems.
Please read it together with our Terms of Service, Returns & Refunds Policy, Cancellation Policy, and accepted written order documents. Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
SHIPPING AREAS AND COSTS
Contiguous United States
We offer free standard shipping to the contiguous 48 United States and Washington, D.C. Large sculptures are generally shipped by curbside freight, as explained below.
Standard protective packing and the agreed standard transportation service are included. We do not add separate standard shipping or handling fees for orders qualifying for this service. Optional delivery, unloading, or installation services are not included unless expressly stated in the accepted order documents.
Please tell us about access restrictions or special delivery requirements before ordering. If standard curbside delivery cannot be provided to your address, we will explain the available arrangements and any charges before you commit to the purchase. We will not accept an order offering free standard delivery and later impose an undisclosed mandatory delivery surcharge.
Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories, and International Destinations
Free standard shipping does not apply to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, or international destinations. Availability, transportation costs, and delivery times depend on the sculpture and destination.
Contact support@sculpturemade.com before ordering for one of these destinations. We will confirm whether delivery is available and disclose the applicable charges and arrangements before you agree to the purchase. An address outside our standard service area is not automatically approved for delivery merely because you can enter it on the website.
PRODUCTION AND ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME
Made-to-Order Sculptures
For most made-to-order sculptures delivered by standard service to the contiguous United States, our typical estimates are:
| Stage | Estimated time |
|---|---|
| Production after final order and required design or specification confirmation | 40–45 business days |
| Shipping and transit after actual handover to the carrier | 25–35 business days |
| Total from final order and required design or specification confirmation to delivery | Approximately 65–80 business days |
These are business days, not calendar days. The applicable shipment estimate includes the final inspection, protective packing, and carrier preparation needed to release the sculpture for transport; these steps do not create an additional undisclosed handling period.
Large-scale work, unusually complex designs, or multi-piece projects may require a different schedule. Any different timeline known before purchase will be disclosed in the product information or quotation you accept. Later changes are handled under the delay and order-change provisions below, not imposed as an automatic extension.
Design Approval and the Start of the Timeline
Where approval is required, production begins after the order and the relevant design, dimensions, material, color, finish, and other specifications have been confirmed. Final approval must be clearly communicated in writing, including by email or an agreed electronic approval process. Silence is not approval.
The 65–80-business-day estimate above starts after final confirmation, not automatically on the day you place the order. Time needed to develop, review, and approve the design is additional. We will explain the required approval steps, the expected approval-stage timing, and their effect on the estimated shipment and delivery dates before you commit to the order. We will confirm the applicable schedule in writing.
Customer-requested changes or delayed responses may affect the schedule. We will explain the effect and obtain any required agreement. We will not use undisclosed approval conditions or our own administrative delays to avoid an agreed shipping period or applicable cancellation and refund obligations.
Ready-to-Ship Products
A product is ready to ship only when expressly identified that way. Its applicable dispatch and transit estimates will be disclosed in the listing, checkout, or accepted quotation before purchase. A catalog design with selectable options may still be made to order; it is not necessarily available for immediate shipment.
If you have an opening date, event, installation appointment, or other fixed deadline, contact us before ordering. Dates are estimates unless expressly agreed as guaranteed dates. Calling a date an estimate does not remove our obligations under applicable law.
SHIPPING METHODS AND TRACKING
We select transportation according to the sculpture’s dimensions, weight, packaging, and destination. Large sculptures generally travel by freight, which may involve ocean and ground transportation or multiple carriers. Eligible smaller items may travel by parcel or express service.
Shipment means actual handover to the carrier, not creating a label, assigning a tracking number, or preparing documents. Once shipment has occurred and the relevant information is available, we will provide a tracking number, freight reference, or other shipment details.
Freight tracking may update at transport milestones rather than show continuous parcel-style scans. Tracking is not available during production. Contact us if you need an order update or believe tracking information is incomplete or inconsistent with the expected schedule.
PROTECTIVE PACKAGING
We select protective packaging appropriate to the sculpture’s material, dimensions, and structure. Depending on the product, this may include a wooden crate or frame, cushioning, wrapping, and internal supports.
Keep the packaging and shipping materials until you have reasonably inspected the sculpture. If damage is found, retain relevant packaging while we assess the issue. If the original packaging is unsafe, unavailable, or unsuitable for a required return, contact us for instructions. Packaging requirements and responsibility for return costs are explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
CURBSIDE FREIGHT, UNLOADING, AND INSTALLATION
Unless another service is expressly agreed in writing, large sculptures are supplied by curbside freight delivery. The carrier brings the packaged sculpture to the agreed safe, accessible delivery point at or near the delivery address, not to its final position inside a building, garden, or project site.
Standard curbside service does not include unpacking, moving the sculpture inside, final placement, assembly, anchoring, installation, crane service, forklift service, or white-glove handling.
Unless unloading assistance is expressly included in your order, you are responsible for arranging suitable assistance and equipment to unload and move the sculpture safely. Before shipment, we will confirm the delivery point, available packaged dimensions and weight information, and the agreed unloading arrangements. Do not assume that a liftgate, lifting equipment, or driver-assisted unloading is included; any such service must be confirmed for the shipment.
Do not attempt to lift or move a heavy sculpture without appropriate people and equipment. Qualified movers or installers may be needed. The scope and cost of any optional service must be agreed before it is booked. A general statement about curbside delivery does not override a specific unloading or placement service expressly included in your accepted order.
DELIVERY APPOINTMENTS
Freight delivery may require an appointment. The carrier or our team may contact you by phone, email, or text message to arrange a delivery date or window. Provide current contact information and ensure that you or an authorized recipient can attend with any agreed unloading assistance.
If you cannot attend an agreed appointment, tell us and the carrier as soon as possible. Appointment windows may be affected by the carrier’s route or operating conditions. A missed appointment caused by the carrier will not be treated as a customer-caused redelivery charge.
DELIVERY ACCESS AND ADDRESS CHANGES
Before ordering, tell us about narrow or unpaved roads, steep driveways, gates, vehicle or weight restrictions, low clearances, construction areas, or other known access limitations. We will review the disclosed requirements as part of the delivery arrangements.
If access becomes unavailable, we will work with you to agree on an appropriate alternative, which may include a different accessible delivery point or freight-terminal collection. We will not unilaterally substitute terminal collection for an agreed delivery service without explaining the change and obtaining any required agreement.
Check the recipient name, address, phone number, and email address carefully. Request address changes as soon as possible. Changes after shipment may not be feasible. Any additional cost for a requested change will be explained and agreed before the revised service is arranged.
INSPECTING AND REPORTING DELIVERY DAMAGE
Inspect the packaging and sculpture as soon as reasonably possible. Photograph visible damage before unpacking when practical, note it on the delivery receipt when possible, and photograph affected areas after opening. Retain relevant packaging and contact support@sculpturemade.com with your order number, a description, and available photographs or videos.
Report shipping-related damage within 3 business days of delivery wherever reasonably possible. If damage could not reasonably be discovered within that period, contact us promptly after discovering it.
A delivery signature, failure to note concealed damage, or lack of a particular photograph does not automatically waive an otherwise valid claim. These reporting procedures support prompt assessment and do not exclude mandatory legal rights. Do not install or use a damaged sculpture if doing so could be unsafe or worsen the damage.
Manufacturing defects, incorrect products, and material differences from agreed specifications are addressed separately in our Returns & Refunds Policy, including its 14-calendar-day reporting request and protection for latent defects and non-excludable rights.
LOST, UNDELIVERED, OR TRANSIT-DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
For transportation arranged by SculptureMade, we remain responsible for handling a valid claim involving loss, non-delivery, or transit damage up to the agreed delivery point. We will investigate, coordinate with the carrier, and provide an appropriate resolution under the order, our Returns & Refunds Policy, and applicable law.
You will not be required to pursue the carrier as your sole remedy. Where we require a return for an accepted transit-damage claim, we will arrange and pay for reasonable return transportation and necessary packaging. We will not delay a refund that is already due solely because a carrier or insurance claim remains unresolved.
Damage actually caused by customer-arranged unloading, moving, storage, or installation is assessed separately. This distinction does not excuse damage that occurred before that handling, our error, or an existing product defect. The agreed allocation of unloading work must be clear; the mere fact that a customer arranged unloading does not make all delivery damage the customer’s responsibility.
DELAYS, CONSENT, AND REFUNDS
Production or transportation may be affected by circumstances such as severe weather, port congestion, customs inspections, carrier disruptions, or government restrictions. We will communicate material changes that affect your order. These circumstances do not create a blanket exemption from our obligations.
If we cannot ship within the applicable promised period, we will provide the required delay notice promptly and no later than the applicable deadline. The notice will provide a revised shipping date where we have a reasonable basis for one, or explain that we cannot yet provide a definite date, and describe your option to consent to the delay or cancel for the refund required by law.
We will obtain any legally required consent to an extension or further delay. Where applicable law requires cancellation because consent has not been obtained, we will cancel and refund as required rather than leave the order open indefinitely.
If SculptureMade cannot fulfill the order as agreed, or you exercise a statutory cancellation right, we will issue the required refund without a buyer-remorse cancellation or restocking fee. Custom-made status, design approval, and the start of production do not override these rights. We will not impose store credit or a materially different substitute instead of a refund to which you are entitled.
Any shorter refund deadline required by law takes precedence over the ordinary processing periods in our policies, including applicable deadlines under the FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule. We will not postpone a legally required refund by delaying internal approval. Payment providers may require additional time to display a refund after we issue it.
A delay after actual shipment is not automatically the same as a failure to ship. We will investigate delivery delays and resolve lost, undelivered, or damaged shipments under the relevant provisions above and applicable law.
EXPEDITED DELIVERY AND OPTIONAL SERVICES
Expedited transportation may be available for some products and destinations, but is not guaranteed for large or oversized sculptures. Contact us before ordering to check availability and pricing. Faster transit does not shorten the production or approval stage unless we expressly agree to a different production schedule.
White-glove delivery, unpacking, indoor placement, assembly, lifting equipment, and installation may be available for certain projects. Their availability, provider, scope, cost, and timing must be confirmed in writing. We will not add an optional service without your approval.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY AND DESTINATION CHARGES
For an international order we agree to accept, the quotation or order documents will specify the delivery arrangement and responsibility for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage, and other destination charges. Estimates for standard contiguous-U.S. delivery do not automatically apply to other destinations.
Where charges are payable directly to customs or another authority, we will disclose that responsibility before you agree to the order. We will not describe government charges as included and then require you to pay them again, or add an undisclosed merchant shipping surcharge after purchase.
Any documents or approvals required from you will be explained. Customs or regulatory requirements do not remove our obligation to provide accurate information or any cancellation or refund remedy required by law.
REFUSED OR UNDELIVERABLE SHIPMENTS
Do not refuse freight solely because the exterior packaging appears damaged without first seeking guidance from us or the carrier, where reasonably possible. Document the condition and contact us promptly. Do not accept or handle an unsafe shipment. These instructions do not remove a legal right to reject goods.
If delivery fails because of an incorrect customer-provided address, a missed agreed appointment, undisclosed access restrictions, or another issue actually attributable to the customer, reasonable and documented additional freight, storage, return, or redelivery costs may be the customer’s responsibility under the disclosed arrangements.
We will explain the cause and proposed charges and will not charge twice for the same cost. Customer-requested storage or additional services require agreement to the relevant terms. We will not pass on costs caused by our own error as a customer penalty.
Refusal or failed delivery does not automatically forfeit all payments and does not, by itself, bypass the applicable Cancellation Policy or Returns & Refunds Policy.
CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS, AND POLICY APPLICATION
Pre-shipment cancellation requests are handled under our Cancellation Policy. Creating a shipping label does not move an order into the shipped stage, and our response time does not change the stage used to assess a timely request.
Returns and associated shipping-cost refunds are handled under our Returns & Refunds Policy. Unincurred shipping or service charges are refunded when the associated order is canceled, subject to those policies and applicable law. We will not retrospectively charge for outbound shipping that was advertised and supplied as free.
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays, unless applicable law requires a different calculation. Calendar days include weekends and holidays.
Order-specific arrangements govern the matters they expressly address, as explained in our Terms of Service. No arrangement overrides rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Later policy changes do not retroactively reduce rights attached to an existing order.
